Groups

Groups within access allow administrators to designate access to specific actions and inventories. Groups and their permissions can be managed by anyone with the user management and company writing roles.

How to Create a Group

The following steps walk through creating a group:

  1. Navigate to the 'Groups' page.
  2. Click on the 'New Group' button.
  3. Enter a short group greater than four characters. The group name must be unique and is a required field.
  4. Click on the 'Create' button.

How to Edit a Group

The following steps walk through editing a group:

  1. Navigate to the 'Groups' page.
  2. Locate the group you wish to edit.
  3. Click on the 'Edit' button.
  4. Update the values within the group.
  5. Click on the 'Edit' button.

How to Add Users to a Group

The following steps walk through adding users to a group:

  1. Navigate to the 'Groups' page.
  2. Locate the group you wish to edit.
  3. Click on the name of the group to access the group control pane.
  4. Within the 'Members' section, use the input box to start typing in the name of a user.
  5. Select the user.
  6. Click on the '+ Add' button.

How to Remove Users from a Group

The following steps walk through removing users from a group:

  1. Navigate to the 'Groups' page.
  2. Locate the group you wish to edit.
  3. Click on the name of the group to access the group control pane.
  4. Within the 'Members' section, locate the user you wish to remove from the group.
  5. Click on the 'Delete' button.

  1. Navigate to the 'Groups' page.
  2. Locate the group you wish to edit.
  3. Click on the 'Delete' button.

How to Add a Permission to a Group

The following steps walk through adding a permission to a group:

  1. Navigate to the 'Groups' page.
  2. Locate the group you wish to edit.
  3. Click on the name of the group to access the group control pane.
  4. Within the 'Permissions' section, click on the 'New Permission' button.
  5. Select either 'Inventory' or 'Action' for the permission target.
  6. Select the inventory or action the permission should target. For inventories you will have to add in the operations the permission allows, for actions this will be all actions.
  7. Click on the 'Create' button.

How to Edit a Permission within a Group

The following steps walk through how to edit a permission on a group:

  1. Navigate to the 'Groups' page.
  2. Locate the group you wish to edit.
  3. Click on the name of the group to access the group control pane.
  4. Within the 'Permissions' section, find the permission you would like to edit and click on the 'Edit' button.
  5. Update the permission.
  6. Click on the 'Edit' button.
